STEKO AG and Swisshaus AG at the Schweizer Hausbau- und Energiemesse in Bern

First STEKO house in Ljubljana, Slowenia

In autumn 2007, a delegation of experts were informed about the STEKO system by the engineering consultants Kolb AG. After almost a year, the first contract was concluded in Ljubliana. The decision for STEKO was driven by the fact that also in the countries of eastern europe there is a trend for using natural materials and increased thermal insulation in buildings.
In the beginning of august 2008, construction started. The STEKO delivery arrived on time at the construction site. Holzer Naturprodukte KG Sas, our representative in Italy, supervised the construction. After only 60 days, the building (fotos and a report here, in slovenian language) was almost finished – all involved are excited and proud, and justifiably so.

Construction and hygienic

As founder of the OEKO-BAU Institute Krefeld Olaf Paproth developed a performance image for "specialist engineering services" for healthy and ecological construction hoping to allow for or to make easier the integration of the ecological issues and health aspects by clearly defining the task of the principals, project managers and architects. We are happy to be able to present to you the penthouse of the new building project "G40 STEKO" www.olaf-paproth.de which was completed in November 2008 in Krefeld. The STEKO distribution partner Nordwest, Ing. Henryk Frömchen, D-31031 Alfeld a.d.Leine carried out the work planning as well as the professional construction. The web site of Olaf Paproth certainly is well worth a visit.

In Berg a. Irchel a semi-detached house for two families is built

Under the management of Bosshard Söhne AG, Holzbau, 8414 Buch a. Irchel the semi-detached house of the Family Schwarz, which the architectural office Berger und Partner, 8604 Volketswil planned, is currently being built. In addition to all advantages the possibility of the principal's co-building was decisive for selecting the STEKO wood construction system. Despite the fact that the weather was not great the house could be roofed in November so that the extension works can be completed over the winter.

Villa Meister in CH-8455 Rüdlingen nearly completed

Now that the extension works near the end the proud principal can already look forward to spending Christmas in his new dream house. This deadline could ultimately be kept because the architectural office Götz Partner Architekten AG, 8200 Schaffhausen under the leadership of project manager Ueli Winzeler had a good grip on the construction process. The engineering and consultancy office for wood construction Josef Kolb, 8592 Uttwil, was responsible for the demanding wood construction planning. The executing project manager: Urs Tappolet, engineer, 8455 Rüdlingen.

Steko available FSC-certified

WWF praises Schaffhausen for the world's first nursery made of FSC wood.

Schaffhausen demonstrates to other municipalities how the global protection of the woods is realised in practice. When the town invited tenders for the new building of five nurseries only wood with the FSC label was considered.

The company Vögeli Holzbau AG, Gächlingen is building the last of the 5 nurseries this year.

Specialist literature "Innovative wall constructions"

Wall buildings for minimum energy and passive houses by Daniela Enz and Robert Hastings

Minimum energy P and passive house standards mean increased requirements for the building framework. In comparison to conventional constructions with a U value of approximately 0.30 W/(m²Ksuch houses require maximum U values of 0.15 W/(m²K).

This book presents different, selected, innovative wall constructions in light and solid construction and using an exemplary realised building presents the same. Under the title "Wood module pushfit system" STEKO is described with specialist and neutral details. In an overview the high economical value of STEKO is clearly visible.
