Modern and open is the exterior appearance of the single-family dwelling of the family Niklaus in Gächlingen (CH). The house was built in 1997 and is thus one of the first Steko buildings.
The house was planned in the architectural office Reich & Bächtold, Schaffhausen, where many other Steko houses were built and which now disposes of huge amounts of experience.
Generous window areas in the southern façade allow light and warmth to flow into the outstandingly insulated house. The horizontal wood casing has been treated with a yellow, bright colour. Within only 2 days the wood construction was erected.
